Field Report No. 1
August 18, 2008
On August 18, 2008 So Cal HERS Raters conducted a site visit to the above project.
The purpose of this visit was to observe the insulation installation and perform the
Quality Insulation Installation / Thermal Bypass Checklist Inspection and identify any
areas not passing. The following parties were present:
Christ Gianunzio, Brown Construction, Inc. (BCI)
Juan Gonzalez, So Cal HERS Raters (SCH)
Kevin Rasmussen, So Cal HERS Raters (SCH)
The following observations were made on the jobsite, and/or discussed in the jobsite
trailer.
Chris G. called us on 8/15/08 for building 200 and informed us that the insulation
between floors and at the roof level was finished, and drywall was being installed on
Wednesday.
We visited the jobsite on 8/18/08 and identified a correction; the band joist between
floors wasn't insulated.
Chris assured me he would get it done before he moved forward with drywall and
would call to schedule another inspection when he was ready for the attic insulation
to be verified.

The following observations were made on the jobsite, and/or discussed in the jobsite
trailer.
Chris G. called us on 8/21/08 in the presence of his city inspector and asked if we
- would be able to come out the following day and look at the insulation at the attic
level on building 200 as well as the corrections we pointed out on 8/18/08 from our
previous visit.
We visited the jobsite on 8/22/08 and we were able to verify that the corrections
called out on our previous site visit (see Field Report 1) were completed
satisfactorily.
The minor correction we identified was in a soffit, the insulation was not going to be
in contact with the dry wall, and needed to drop about 6". We showed him the
correction and he said he would fix before moving forward with drywall.
I asked Chris to please take a picture of the correction.
The attic insulation met the QII/TBC criteria on 8/22/08.
Chris will schedule us for the exterior walls with at least a 3 day lead time.

We brought the issue to Chris G.'s attention. He assured us he would get it corrected
