Project Title: Fritz Burns Park and City Maintenance and Operations Yard Improvements Project Project Description: The City of La Quints (City) proposes improvements to the existing Fritz Burns.Park ("Park") and City of La Quinta's Maintenance and Operations Yard ("M&O Yard"). The Park improvements would affect 4.04 acres and occur over three phases and include; demolition and removal of some landscaping, concrete%asphalt, various park equipment, and the existing dog park; playground and park structure improvements; parking and access improvements; swimming pool enhancements including a new splash pad activity pool; pathway and pedestrian feature improvements; and lighting and landscaping improvements. Improvements at the M&O Yard would affect 2.82 acres and include; demolition and removal of the three existing buildings (maintenance, shop and storage, and administration buildings); a new 12,380 SF M&O building; redesign of parking areas and pathways; new pedestrian and vehicular access points; dedicated materials storage area; and updated utilities and drainage. Findings/Determination: The City has conducted an environmental review of the above -described project pursuant to the Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act.
