Good morning Clerks,
The City of Redding utilizes PINS Advantage as the software to manage insurance submittals from our vendors. Over the
last few years we noticed that we are getting a lot of push back from insurance carriers and vendors regarding uploading
their insurance electronically. More and more are expecting us to enter this information for them even though their
contracts now require them to upload into PINS.
We are hoping you can answer a few questions regarding how your City handles insurance submittals from your
vendors:
1. What insurance management system are you using? Do you use a software program or outsource to another
company to obtain insurance?
a. Are you happy with this system?
2. If you use a software program, are you finding it difficult to get vendors/insurance brokers to submit their
insurance electronically?
3. Do you have City staff whose sole job is to manage vendor insurance? If not, where do these duties fall (staff
from each department, certain individuals, etc.)?
