ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Lien Date is January 1, 2005. Any ownership changes after that date will not be reflected on
this notice or the 2005/2006 tax bill.
If you disagree with the assessed value, you may file an appeal. To formally appeal your assessment,
you may obtain an application for a hearing before the Assessment Appeals Board by writing
the Clerk of the Board, P.O. Box 1628, Riverside, CA 92502-1628 or by calling (951) 955-1060.
Applications must be filed between July 2, 2005 and November 30, 2005. After reviewing the
application, if the Assessor and the property owner can stipulate to a mutually agreed upon value,
the process allows the change in value without a formal hearing. The Board may accept the
stipulation or reject it and set the matter for a hearing.
This value becomes effective July 1, 2005 and may not reflect exemptions for which you may qualify.
Base Year is defined as one of the following: 1) the assessment year 1975; 2) the assessment
year you acquired the property; or 3) the assessment year of completion of new construction. The
Base Year becomes effective on the lien date following the date of acquisition or completion of
new construction.
