SUBJECT: MINOR USE PERMIT 2025-0011: 77750 AVENUE 50
MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING TELECOMMUNICATION FACILITY
Dear Tom Williams:
The Design and Development Department has reviewed and approved your request to modify the
configuration of telecommunication facility and add four (4) new antennas located at 77750 Avenue 50,
at the La Quinta Country Club. Approval of this application is subject to the attached exhibits, the
following Findings and Conditions of Approval:
FINDINGS
1. Consistency with the General Plan: The proposed equipment at the existing telecommunication
facility are consistent with the goals, objectives and policies of the General Plan, in that the
proposed reconfiguration and addition of four antennas is intended to enhance community access
to quality wireless communication services.
2. Public Welfare: Approval of the new equipment for an existing telecommunication facility will not
create conditions materially detrimental to the public health, safety and general welfare.
3. The proposed new equipment at the existing telecommunication facility will not create new
adverse visual impacts. No change to the height of the antenna location or general configuration
is proposed. The associated equipment will be placed entirely within existing equipment cabinet.
4. The proposed new antennas and equipment configuration is designed to facilitate continued
function of the existing antenna array, without modifying the height or other pre-existing conditions
5. The proposed new and replacement equipment is necessary to improve community access to
wireless services.
CONDITIONS
1. The applicant/property owner agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of La
fees. The City of La Quinta shall have the right to select its defense counsel in its sole discretion.
The City of La Quinta shall promptly notify the applicant of any claim, action, or proceeding and
shall cooperate fully in the defense.
2. The applicant shall comply with all provisions of La Quinta Municipal Code Section 9.170
3. The applicant shall comply with any applicable provisions contained in Conditions of Approval for
Conditional Use Permit 2012-148 and Minor Use Permit 2019-0001.
4. The applicant is permitted to install and remove the equipment identified in the scope of work on
the approved and attached plans for MUP2025-0011. All new and replacement equipment and
equipment array shall be painted to match the color of the faux palm fronds of the monopalm or
completely covered by the faux palm fronds. Additionally, the existing monopalm was approved
with a faux palm frond skirt that should remain in place and maintained to keep the stealth design
intact.

6. The applicant shall contact the Planning Division to schedule an inspection of the equipment
installation and its integration with the stealth design features of the monopalm and the faux palm
fronds.
7. The existing four palm trees planted to screen the monopalm shall be maintained in a thriving
manner.
This decision may be appealed to the Planning Commission by any party who submits the necessary
paperwork and filing fee this office within 15 days of the date of approval of this permit. Should you have

Verizon wireless is proposing a minor modification to an existing cell tower located at 77750 Avenue 50, La
Quinta, CA 92253
The proposed scope of work is to install (4) new panel antennas. There is no proposed change to the tower
height, structure or ground footprint.
The purpose of this project is to enhance and optimize wireless broadband coverage to surrounding residential
and commercial customers.
