AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
WITH LU ANN SORENSON-SIMS
This Amendment No. 2 ("Amendment 2") to Temporary Employment Agreement
("Agreement") is made and entered into as of the 1st day of March, 2026, ("Effective
Date") by and between the City of La Quinta, a California municipal corporation and
charter city ("City"), and Lu Ann Sorenson -Sims, an individual ("Employee"), both of whom
understands as follows:
RECITALS
WHEREAS, on or about January 1, 2026, the City and Employee entered into an
Agreement to employ said employee as a Business Outreach Specialist in the City
Manager's Department on a temporary status; and
WHEREAS, on or about February 1, 2026, the City and Employee executed
Amendment No. 1 amending 2.A Term; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Employee mutually agree to amend the Agreement
to extend the term through June 30, 2026.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenant herein contained, the
parties agree as follows:
AMENDMENT
In consideration of the foregoing Recitals and the covenants and promises
hereinafter contained, and for good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency and
receipt of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. Section 2A. Term is amended to read as follows:
Section 2. Term.
A. Temporary employment shall commence on January 1, 2026, which shall also be
deemed the effective date of this Agreement, and will terminate on June 30, 2026.
In all other respects, the original Agreement shall remain in effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City and Employee have executed this Amendment
No. 2 to the Agreement on the respective dates set forth below.
