VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION
SERVICE AGREEMENT
Our organization, Jewish Family Services (JFS) will provide volunteers to perform only the
services as outlined in the Scope and Schedule of Services attached hereto as Exhibit A
for the City of La Quinta ("City"). We understand that we will not be compensated for our
work and we will complete our organization volunteer duties in a responsible manner. If
we decide to discontinue our organization volunteer services, our contact person Kraig
Johnson, will notify Caroline Doran, City designee.
We understand and agree that:
No one in the group is to appear for volunteer service under the influence of
any drugs or alcohol.
Our organization will report any injuries sustained by participants during their
volunteer activities to Caroline Doran, City designee, immediately upon
occurrence.
• Our organization is responsible for directly supervising the activities of all the
individuals in our group who will be doing volunteer work, and therefore, in
consideration of our organization and members being permitted to perform
services on City property, our organization agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold
harmless the City and its officials, employees, and agents from any damage
claim or lawsuit for injury, illness, (including exposure to communicable diseases,
illnesses, or viruses), damage or other loss of any kind to anyone including
members of our organization that might arise out of our activities or the actions
of any individuals of our group, except for injuries or damages caused by the sole
negligence of the City.
• Our organization has commercial general liability insurance of at least $1 M per
occurrence / $2M general aggregate to cover our activities. A copy of the certificate
of insurance, the additional insured endorsement, naming the City as an "additional
insured," and a Primary and Non -Contributory endorsement is attached.
• The City may terminate this agreement at any time without cause, and we agree
that we are volunteering our services at will and may be asked to discontinue
such without prior notice or reason.

whichever is less, beginning on this date.

EXHIBIT A
Scope and Schedule of Services
Program Purpose
The purpose of this Agreement is to provide the framework for the Let's Do Lunch!
Program (Program) between Jewish Family Services of the Desert (JFS) and the City
of La Quinta (City).
Services to be Rendered by JFS
JFS will provide the Program for City residents twice monthly, generally on the 1 st
and 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from March 2026 —
March 2027. The parties may adjust specific program dates or times (including
moving a session to a different weekday in the same month) upon mutual written
agreement provided that JFS gives the City a minimum of two weeks advance notice.
Specific Responsibilities
• JFS Community Programs Coordinator and trained volunteers may be called
upon to assist or run the individual on -site sessions with the JFS Director of
Community Outreach overseeing the Program.
• JFS will provide all audiovisual equipment, badges, sign -in sheets, and other
Program materials.
• JFS will provide a cost-free, nutritious lunch to the Program participants.
• JFS will be responsible for 100% of activity costs including meals, supplies,
Program materials/equipment, and volunteer support.
• JFS will be responsible for 100% of staff and volunteer scheduling, recruiting,
training, and vetting.
Services to be Rendered by City
The City will provide use of a meeting space at the La Quinta Wellness Center located
at 78450 Avenida La Fonda, La Quinta, CA 92253 free of charge on the 1st Tuesday
and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM (set-up and clean-up time
included).
If available, City will allow use of a refrigerator to keep food chilled until it is
served.
• City will assist with marketing the Program and shall determine in its sole
discretion when, how, and through which channels or platforms the Program is
marketed.
• City will be responsible for upkeep and cleaning of the meeting room and is
responsible for meeting room costs including utilities and maintenance.
