CC Resolution 2026-004 Salary & Classification Plan FY 2025-26 Updated Add Eng. Specialist
RESOLUTION NO. 2026 – 004 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A REVISED CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY PLAN/SCHEDULE ADDING AN ENGINEERING SPECIALIST CLASSIFICATION IN FISCAL YEAR 2025/26 WHEREAS, pursuant to the City of La Quinta’s (City) Personnel Policy the City’s Classification Plan and Salary Plan/Schedule and amendments thereof must be approved by the City Council and adopted by resolution; and WHEREAS, on June 17, 2025, the City Council adopted Resolution Nos. 2025- 015 and 2025-016, approving the current Fiscal Year 2025/26 Classification Plan and Salary/Plan Schedule; and WHEREAS, the City desires to add an Engineering Specialist classification/position to align staffing resources with operational needs in the Public Works/Engineering Department, requiring revisions to the City’s Classification and Salary Plan/Schedule. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta, California, as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the revised Classification Plan and Salary Plan/Schedule adding an Engineering Specialist classification/position to the authorized positions for fiscal year 2025/26, attached hereto as Exhibits A and B, respectively, and incorporated herein by this reference. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption and shall supersede Resolution Nos. 2025-015 and 2025-016, together with any other resolutions relating to the City’s Classification Plan and Salary/Plan Schedule.
