APPROVAL
The Design and Development Department has reviewed Special Event Permit 2026-0001,
pursuant to LQMC Section 9.100.130 (Special Events — Nonresidential), and has approved the
permit subject to Conditions of Approval, based on the Findings below. This approval authorizes
the applicant to conduct the event pursuant to compliance with all conditions of approval of this
permit. The applicant must obtain any permits, as may be required below, in order to physically
set up the event. Failure to follow the conditions of approval herein may result in penalties, fees
or revocation of the permit per LQMC Section 9.100.130.
FINDINGS
A. The event will not be detrimental to the health, safety and general welfare of the
community in the area of the proposed event. The event consists of the temporary
installation of a catering tent, stage, and truss structures for a corporate event at the
Driving Range at the Pete Dye Mountain Course. The event has been conditioned to
follow the sound limits of the City's noise ordinance (Municipal Code Section
9.100.210).
B. There is adequate area to conduct the event and to accommodate the anticipated
attendance. The event will be held entirely within driving range of the golf course.
C. Sufficient parking will be provided for the anticipated attendance. Many of the
attendees of the corporate retreat will be staying at the La Quinta Resort during the

duration of the event. The attendees will either use shuttles to the event or walk on
existing pedestrian pathways.
D. Food service operations, medical facilities, solid waste facilities, sewage disposal
methods and potable water service have been provided.
E. Fire protection plans and facilities have been provided to the satisfaction of the fire
marshal.
F. Security plans and facilities have been provided to the satisfaction of the sheriff.
G. Public roadways providing access to the event are capable of accommodating the
anticipated traffic volumes in a reasonable and safe manner with minimal disruption to
local traffic circulation. The attendees will be shuttled to the event from the La Quinta
Resort.
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
Completion/confirmation prior to start of the event-
1. The applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the City of La Quinta
("the City"), its agents, officers and employees from any claim, action or proceeding
to attack, set aside, void, or annul the approval of this Special Event Permit. The City
of La Quinta shall have sole discretion in selecting its defense counsel. The City shall
promptly notify the applicant of any claim, action or preceding and shall cooperate fully
in the defense.
2. The outdoor event is approved for March 21, 2026 through March 22, 2026. The
proposed event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm on each night.
The total number of attendees shall not exceed 1,200 on -site at any given time. The
applicant is required to always maintain a count of all event attendees on -site during
the event. The event count shall be maintained by the applicant and made available
upon request by the Police Department, Fire Department, and/or City Staff. The Police
Department and/or Fire Department can request a reduction of total event participants
if the number of participants is detrimental to the health, safety, and general welfare
of the community around the proposed event.
3. The event will be setup on March 20 from from 10:00 pm until 3:00 am. The installers
will not be using heavy equipment for setup and will need to observe the noise
limitations referenced below.
Before 10:00pm: Sixty-five decibels (65 dB(A))
After 10.00pm: Fifty decibels (50 dB(A))

If the noise consists entirely of impact noise, speech or music, or any combination
thereof, each of the noise levels specific above shall be reduced by five dB(A).
4. Lights should be directed away from adjoining residences to the north of the driving
range.
5. The applicant shall obtain all other applicable permits, if required, from the appropriate
agencies (i.e. Fire, Building Department, Public Works, Sheriff's Department, etc.).
6. All vendors shall obtain a City Business License.
Fire Marshal
7. Please see the attached Fire Conditions of Approval from the Office of the Fire
Marshal.
8. Fire lanes and fire hydrants shall be maintained unobstructed and accessible.
Building Division
9. Building permits must be obtained for tents, generators and Truss Structures.
Building Permit BSPN2025-0003 has been submitted.
Completion/confirmation during the event:
10. The set-up and operation of the event shall be consistent with the attached exhibits
and event information on file.
11. Security personnel shall be easily identifiable to the public by the provision of
uniformed personnel. All designated private security personnel must be licensed by
the State of California and possess a valid private security license.
12. The applicant shall conform to the City's Noise Ordinance (Municipal Code Section
9.100.210) and specifically the following noise limitations during the event:
Before 10:00pm: Sixty-five decibels (65 dB(A))

13. Surrounding roadways and intersections shall remain readily accessible for passage

of emergency response vehicles and private vehicles. There shall be no queuing of
vehicles along all surrounding roads for the purposes of dropping off for, picking up
for, or entering the event.
14. Roadways/traffic aisles to structures and activities in and around the event will be
maintained accessible to emergency vehicles at all times. Parking monitors shall
wear light-colored clothing and reflective vests as needed. Flashlights shall be used
after dusk.
15. The event is subject to spot inspections by the Police Department and/or City staff to
ensure compliance with the conditions of this letter.
16. Smoking shall not be permitted in any tent or canopy or in any adjacent area where
hay, sawdust or any other combustible materials are stored or used unless approved
by the fire inspector. NO SMOKING signs shall be posted in all tents and canopies.
17. No fireworks, or open flame, or any other device emitting flame or fire or creating a
glow capable of igniting combustibles shall be permitted.
18. Fireworks require a separate application to the Office of the Fire Marshal for permit.
Fireworks are not proposed as part of this event.
19. All motor vehicles shall be parked in designated parking areas. Designated Fire
Lanes are to be kept open with minimum of 20 feet unobstructed access at all times.
Fire lanes shall be clearly outlined in an approved manner throughout the event
grounds by posting "NO PARKING FIRE LANE".
Completion/confirmation after the conclusion of the event (if necessary):
20. The event sites used shall be left clean and in its original manner after the event.
Temporary trash receptacles shall be provided in and around the event areas. All
event areas shall be left free of debris at the end of each day's activities, and after
the event concludes.
FINAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT/CONTACT INFORMATION
By holding this outdoor event, the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the
City of La Quinta ("the City"), its agents, officers and employees from any claim, action or

Permit Numbers: FSEV2026-0003, SPEV2026-0001, and BSPN2026-0003
The application for the Fire Department special event permit was reviewed and approved by the Fire
Department with the following conditions. This permit from the Fire Department shall not be construed as
permission to conduct the event without respect to other permit requirements by the City of La Quinta.
FIRE LANES/ACCESS
Fire lanes shall be maintained unobstructed and accessible. The driveway gates providing access to the
South part of the clubhouse shall be maintained in the open position during the event. The emergency
vehicle staging area for this event is located on the South side of the clubhouse. Because the staging area is
more than 500 feet from the event site, a minimum of 3 golf carts shall be made available at the staging area
for Fire/Paramedics and Sheriff personnel to rapidly access the event site.
GENERATORS
Generators shall be separated from tents/canopies by a minimum of 20 feet and be isolated from contact
with the public. Refueling containers shall not be stored next to the generator. Each generator shall have a
portable fire extinguisher available with a minimum rating of IOBC.
COOKING EQUIPMENT
Portable fire extinguishers shall be available for cooking operations. Fire extinguishers shall have a
minimum rating of 2AI013C. The Class K type fire extinguisher is required for frying operations. Fire
extinguishers shall have a current service tag (within one year). Deep fat fryers shall be located outside
tents.
L.P. Gas - Propane containers (empty or full) shall not be located inside of a tent. Containers shall be
secured to prevent from tipping over.
PLATFORM/STAGE — A minimum of one 2A: IOBC rated portable fire extinguisher to be at the stage.
