ADDENDUM NUMBER 3
TO: All Prospective Bidders and Plan Holders

SUBJECT: Project No. 2021-02, Fritz Burns Park Improvements
The following shall be considered as incorporated into the project plans and specifications for the above
referenced project. Portions of plans and specifications not specifically mentioned in this Addendum
remain in force.
CLARIFICATIONS
Note: All Clarifications shall be considered as included in the Bid Documents
Question 1. What pay item will the hidden concrete curb be under? PIP surfacing, wood fiber
or new pay item.
Response: It shall be considered as paid under Bid Item 43, Furnish and Install Rubber
Safety Surfacing, Poured-In-Place, over Rubber Shock Course and Class II Base
per Plan and Specifications (Det C-11). No additional compensation will be
allowed.
Question 2. Based upon the Contractors License Board documentation, the Restroom
Building Construction will require a Class B license to perform the work. The
building will need to be constructed completely with nothing being fabricated by
Romtec. Therefore, the license requirements for the project should be Class A,
Class B and C10. Please confirm?
Response: Prime Contractor shall have a valid Class ‘A’ License. All subcontractors will
need to have a valid license specific to perform the required work.
Question 3. Was the pre-bid meeting held on Monday considered mandatory?
Response: No.
Question 4. Construction Notes sheet 34: Items 3, 5 & 6 refer to the same detail but are
different items. Is this correct?
Response: This is a generic detail for the placement of an inlet box with gravel.
Question 5. Plans call for Nyoplast but detail says NDS. NDS does not attach to Nyoplast per
detail. Please clarify?

Response: The outlet shown in detail will need to be specific to the inlet type being used.
This detail is meant to be generic for the inlet placement with gravel.
Question 6. The specification sub-section 800-1.5.2 requires using Permaloc landscape
edging in black color, while the detail C-05 & C-06 shows Permaloc aluminum
landscape edging, mill finish. Please help us clarify.
Response: Plans prevail. Use Mill Finish.
Question 7. In reference to specification sub-section 801-1.4, which states that spreading
crushed rock (decomposed granite, gravel, or rubble) over the planting area to a
2" depth, but detail C-06 on sheet L.2-4 shows 3" depth. Please help us clarify.
Response: Plans prevail. Use 3” depth
Question 8. In reference to specification sub-section 801-1.4, which states that spreading
crushed rock (decomposed granite, gravel, or rubble) over the planting area to a
2" depth and the detail C-06 on sheet L.2-4 shows 3" depth, while the bid form
requires rubble size to be 8" minus, specification sub-section 800-1.2.5 presents
6" minus, and the legend shows 1"-3" (30%) and 4"-8" (70%). Please help us
clarify the installation depth and size for rubble items.
Response: The rubble shall be 30% 1"-3" size and 70% 4"-8" size.
Question 9. In reference to the bid form, it shows the part of landscape and irrigation is from
bid item no. 105 to bid item no. 119, but in specification section 4000, part 20.0
Landscaping and Irrigation, and the part of measurement and payment, it
indicated bid item nos. 15-21 & 106-120. Please help us clarify.
Response: They are 15-21 & 105-119.
Question 10. Please help us determine the location for replanting the transplanted existing
palm.
Response: The exact location will be determined in the field but within the existing park.
Question 11. In reference to specification sub-section 801-5.1, which states that an extra valve
control wire will be installed for every six (6) remote control valves, but the
irrigation note no. 9 requires providing a control spare wire from the controller to
the end of each pressure mainline. Please help us clarify.
Response: An extra valve control wire shall be installed for every six (6) remote control
valves, and per irrigation note # 9 provide a control spare wire to the end of each
pressure supply mainline.
Question 12. The technical specification sub-section 800-1.2.4 points out that the material for
organic soil amendments shall be Type 1 from GreenBook 2024, but the planting
note no. 7 shows using Humic compost (manufactured by Agri-Service or
approved) for planting backfilling and rototilling on sodded areas. Please help us
clarify.

Response: The compost may be either Greenbook Type 1 or Humic Compost by Agri-
Service.
Question 13. The planting note no. 9 requires installing a root barrier for all trees within 6' of
hardscape, while detail 709 shows 5'. Please help us clarify.
Response: Root barriers are required for trees within 5’ of hardscape surfaces.
Question 14. Please help us clarify the quantity of existing remote control valves needed to
reconnect to the new irrigation controller as mentioned on irrigation plans—sheet
L.4-1.
Response: Existing irrigation valves will be tested and evaluated during irrigation installation
period. For bidding purposes, the contractor can assume the cost of a new valve
for the existing valves to remain. If the valve is operational at the time of
installation, a credit shall be issued to the city.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PROVIDED
1. If Great Western is selected to install the playground or shade structures by Great
Western the following will be their scope (Deductive Alternate 1 and 3). The Contractor
will be responsible to coordinate and phase to allow Great Western to install Equipment:
Scope for playground installation
Receive and offload equipment
Transport equipment from City site to the park
Dig footings
Pour concrete
Erect playground
Scope for shade sails
Receive and offload equipment
Transport equipment from City site to the park
Dig footings
Supply and install rebar cage
Coordinate conduit installation prior to footing installation with G.C.’s electrical
subcontractor
Pour concrete
Erect shade columns
Take precise end to end measurements for fabric
Install fabric
2. Pictures of material and equipment the City has received so far that Contractor is
responsible to receive, pick-up from City, deliver to site, and store in Yard:

The Contractor is hereby notified; Addendum No. 3 must be acknowledged and initialed as
stipulated under the instructions to Bidders and submitted as part of the Bid. Failure to do so
shall result in the City designating said bid as "Non-Responsive."
