A building or structure shall not be used or occupied in whole or in part, and a change of occupancy of a building or structure or portion thereof shall not be made, until the building official has issued a certificate of occupancy therefor as provided herein. Issuance of a certificate of occupancy shall not be construed as an approval of a violation of the provisions of the applicable code and other ordinances of the jurisdiction. Operator and assistants located within the fallout area are required to have the proper safety gear/protective clothing on during the firing of the display and immediately after the display. Electrically fired shows require that all mortars buried in earth or placed in drums and troughs shall be nominally spaced 2" from the sides or the drum or trough. Title 19 § 1001 7. Electrically fired shows require that all technicians shall be positioned a minimum of 100' from any mortar and positioned so as to be protected from the direct line of fire.
