WASHINGTON STREET SUITE NO. 1
Dear Ms. Cartegena:
The Design and Development Department has reviewed your request to modify the exterior
elevations of the retail anchor tenant space located at 50929 Washington Street, Suite No. 1 in
the La Quinta Village shopping center. The proposed changes are considered minor and are
consistent with the intent of Plot Plan 1991-456 pursuant to Section 9.200.090 of the La Quinta
Municipal Code. The project involves exterior renovations to the building adjacent to the current
Grocery Outlet with no increase in square footage or significant changes to the originally
approved project. Renovations include adding a new side door, switching out the front storefront
doors, and adding a rear door. The modification is approved as shown in the attached exhibits
and subject to the following conditions of approval:
1. The applicant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of La Quinta
("City"), its agents, officers and employees from any claim, action or proceeding to attack,
set aside, void, or annul the approval of this Modification by Applicant. The City shall have
sole discretion in selecting its defense counsel.
The City shall promptly notify the applicant of any claim, action or proceeding and shall
cooperate fully in the defense.
2. The applicant shall conform to all other corresponding conditions of approval for Plot Plan
1991-456.
3. The applicant shall inform the City of La Quinta's Planning Division of any subsequent
changes. Additional modifications may require subsequent review and may result in
additional conditions of approval, or an amendment to the original Site Development
Permit.
4. The applicant shall apply for and obtain all necessary building permits (BCOM2026-
0004).
5. This approval does not cover exterior signage. The applicant shall obtain all necessary
planning permits for exterior signage (SA2026-0012).
