I hope this note finds you well.
We are La Quinta Tennis Villa homeowners. I'm sending this to you to formally express
our opposition regarding the proposed pool renovation project at the La Quinta Resort
& Club, and more specifically the inclusion and placement of a large waterslide directly
adjacent to the Tennis Villas.
We believe this proposal represents a major departure from the historic character,
architectural integrity, and tranquil atmosphere that have defined the La Quinta Resort
for generations.
Before we purchased a Tennis Villa, we were frequently guests at the resort. We have
been attracted to the resort for it's renowned tennis, pickleball, golf, tournaments, and
the unique historic charm and tranquil luxury of the resort — not because of a waterslide
attraction.
The proposed design, particularly the placement of a waterslide directly in front of a
Tennis Villa residential area, appears inconsistent with the resort’s historic aesthetic and
quiet luxury environment. Beyond the horrible visual impact, as a homeowner, I have
serious concerns regarding increased noise, privacy disruption, foot traffic, safety
considerations, and the potential negative effect on surrounding property values and
owner enjoyment.
Our HOA shared our concerns and other suggestions with the resort which included the
following:

The development and presentation of a revised proposal that better reflects the
historic character and architectural integrity of the La Quinta Resort.
Consideration of relocating higher-impact recreational features, including the
waterslide, to an area closer to the street and farther from the Tennis Villas and
residential-facing portions of the property. This one seems to most obvious and a
win/win for all.
I believe there is an opportunity to modernize and enhance the resort while still honoring
the heritage, elegance, and peaceful atmosphere that make La Quinta such a cherished
destination. I respectfully ask that my concerns and others be seriously considered
before moving forward with final approvals or construction.
