Subject: Request for PED extension – Dune Palms Road Bridge Project NBIL(537)
Dear Mr. Vergel De Dios,
The City of La Quinta respectfully request the extension of the Project End Date (PED) for the Dune Palms Road
Bridge Project NBIL(537). The Construction Phase was originally approved as Advance Construction on
December 22, 2021, establishing the Project End Date as December 31, 2024.
Before the City could go out to bid they wanted to have the Construction Management Team selected and under
contract in order to have the final Constructability Review completed prior bidding. The Construction Manager
was awarded in July 2022.
The construction phase went to bid in August 2022, bids were opened on October 5, 2022, and the Project was
awarded to the low bidder on October 18, 2022. It is expected that the Notice to Proceed will be issued on January
24, 2022, with an anticipated final working day established as December 11, 2024.
In order to allow for any other unexpected delays in the completion of the project and to allow sufficient time to
accommodate the project closeout and submittal of final documentation, the City requests to extend the Project
End Date to December 31, 2025.
