Purpose•Replace the existing low water crossingspanning the Coachella Valley Storm WaterChannel at Dune Palms Road with an all-weather access bridge
Proposed Improvements•Replace the low water crossing with a bridge–Bridge will be 480 feet long and 86 feet wide–Curb to curb roadway width of 72 feet–6-ft sidewalk on both sides–Raised median with stamped concrete–Phased bridge construction - West half first•Slope protection improvements upstream and downstream of the crossing•Bridge roadway approach improvements -including drainage

Proposed Improvements•Other Ancillary Construction Activities include, but not be limited to:–Retaining wall at northwest corner of the bridge;–Retaining walls parallel with the channel at all four corners of the bridge;–Asbestos remediation and remove / demolition of two mobile homes and a single-family home;–Two sewer main relocations;–Water main relocation from upstream to downstream of the bridge within the;–Spectrum relocations north of the channel into the new parkway;
Proposed Improvements•Other Ancillary Construction Activities include, but not be limited to (continued):–Minor frontier reconstruction of an underground conduit system south of the channel;–Electrical (IID) distribution undergrounding for full length of the project (under a relocation agreement);–Interim electrical distribution line shoo fly for initial bridge constr. phase; –Construction of a multi-use trail (cv/link) underpass of the bridge and 2 connecter trails from cv/link to dune palms road; –Minor landscaping improvements at the NE and SW corners of bridge;–Install of raised median improvements from bridge to westward ho drive; –Construction and removal of a bypass road.
