A RESOLU'flON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, CONCURRING WITH
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT 93-255 AND APPROVING
A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO AMEND THE LA
QUINTA GENERAL PLAN LAND USE MAP FROM OPEN
SPACE Wufli A MINERAL RESOURCE DESIGN*ON TO
LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL.
CASE NO. GPA 93-043- WINCIEESTER ASSET MANAGEMENT
FOR LA QUINTA GOLF PROPERTIES)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of La Quinta, California did
on the 27th day of April, 1993, hold a duly noticed Public Hearing to consider the request of
WINCHESTER ASSET MANAGEMENT for La Quinta Golf Properties) to amend the City's
General Plan Land Use Element for property located south and east of L*e Cahuilla at the
westerly terminus of Schwabacker Road *eller Pit Road), more particularly described as:
A PO*ON OF THE NORTH HALF OF SECTION 29, T65, R7E, S.B.B.M.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta, California did on the 3rd
day of August, 1993, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider the positive recommendation
of the Planning Commission and the request of the applicant; and,
WHEREAS, the General Plan Amendment has complied with the requirements
of The Rules to Implement the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970" as amended and
adopted in City Council Resolution 83-68), in that the Planning Director conducted an initial
study and has determined that the proposed General *an Amendment will not have a significant
adverse impact on the environment.
WHEREAS, at said Public Hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony
and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said City Council did find
the following facts and reasons to justify the approval of said General Plan Amendment:
1. Impacts caused by the implementation of this General Plan Amendment can be mitigated.
2. The request for a Low Density land use is consistent with the intent of the La Quinta
General Plan.
3. This General Plan Amendment application complies with the requirements of The Rules
to Implement the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970" as amended) and
adopted by City Council Resolution 83-68. A Negative Declaration of Environmental

^#E Impact has been adopted by the City Council at its meeting of May 3, 1993. Mitigation
measures can be generated to reduce the impact of the land use changes on abutting
properties.
NOW, ThEREFORE, BE rr RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La
Quinta, California as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the Council
in this case;
2. That the City Council does hereby approve General Plan Amendment 93-043 consisting
of a Land Use Map Amendment as described in Exhibit A*, attached hereto.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta
City Council, held on this 3rd day of August, 1993, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Bangerter, Perkins, Sniff, Mayor Pena
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Mccartney
ABSTAIN: None
