CC Resolution 1994-033^ F RESOLUTION NO.94-33
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING
THE HEALThY CITIES CONCEPT AND INDICATING
THE INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta, California, has
placed a high priority on improving the quality of life for all the citizens of the City; and
WHEREAS, such an effort must be broad in scope to include all aspects
of the environment; and
WHEREAS, success will depend on coordinated efforts of both the public
and private sectors; and
WHEREAS, programs with proven success should be considered for their
applicability to the situation in the City of La Quinta.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of La Quinta supports the California Healthy Cities concept as a means of integrating health
concerns into a broad approach to improving the overall environment in the City and intends to
participate in the project as established by the State of California Department of Health Services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City intends to file an application
to develop a program that will address specific health needs, and will coordinate the
implementation of that program with the County of Riverside Department of Health and the State
of California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said program will be designed to
further the intent of the regional effort being put forth by the Coachella Valley Association of
Governments CVAG).
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La
Quinta City Council held on the 19th day of April 1994 by the following vote to wit:
