MINUTES
NOVEMBER 4, 1993
Special meeting of the La Quinta City Council was called to order at approximately 7:00 A.M.
by Mayor Pena.
The purpose of said meeting was to meet in conjunction with the monthly Mayor's Breakfast at
La Quinta Hotel in a semi-annual Business Round Table."
Following announcements made by Scott Dalecio relative to Chamber of Commerce activities,
Mrs. Katie Gardner, who served as facilitator, opened the meeting to questions from the
audience to the City Council/City Staff.
Some of the questions fielded are as follows:
1. Status of Highway 111 and Washington Street is it going to include only up-scale
developments?
2. Status of the development plans for Highway 111/Jefferson.
3. Status of Ralphs Grocery Store.
4. Are more cut-backs in State-funding anticipated and what is the impact on La Quinta?
5. What kind of publicity is being done for up-coming art events?
6. Explain the recently-enacted urgency, interim zoning ordinance.
7. What is the most important issue facing the City at this time?
8. Status of Avenue 50 improvements.
9. Status of parks and recreation.
10. Imp act of new high school on traffic on Dune Palms and immediate area.
Following the questions and answers, Mayor Pena introduced Adolfo Cabrera, employee of the
month for the month of September and Pat Parker, employee of the month for the month of
October.
The meeting was then adjourned.
