ADJOURNED MEETING
NOVEMBER 26, 1990
Adjourned meeting of November 26, 1990 was called to order at the
hour of 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Pena followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance.

BUSINESS SESSION
1. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION RECITING THE FACT OF ThE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 1990 AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS THEREOF.
Mrs. Juhola, City Clerk advised that the Council has received
a Certificate of Canvass of Election Returns regarding the
General Municipal Election held on November 6, 1990. In that
election, John Pena was elected Mayor and Kristy Franklin and
Stanley Sniff were elected Council Members. The breakdown of
the results are as follows:
FOR MAYOR
DAVID JONES 759 VOTES
JOHN J. PENA 1575 VOTES
FOR CITY COUNCIL
CONNIE WALLWORK 836 VOTES
KRISTY FRANKLIN 1389 VOTES
BRIAN HANRAHAN 481 VQTES
STANLEY SNIFF 1343 VOTES
RESOLUTION NO. 90-88
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF LA QUINTA ON THE 6TH DAY OF
NOVEMBER, 1990, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
It was moved by Council Members Bohnenberger/Rushworth that
Resolution No. 90-88 be adopted. Motion carried unanimously.
At this time, the City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to
John Pena, Kristy Franklin and Stanley Sniff, They were then
seated.

ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO-?
Council Member Bohnenberger nominated Council Member Rushworth.
There being no further nominations, the Mayor declared nominations
closed and Council Member Rushworth was elected by aCclamation.
DISCUSSION OF COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION
Council had a brief discussion regarding the possibility of
reducing the Community Services Commission from seven members to
five. It was suggested that the possibility be submitted to the
Community Services Commission to see how they feel about operating
as a five member Commission and therefore delay the interviews
being scheduled for December 3rd until the end of January in order
to get their input.
Following discussion there was a general consensus to delay the
interviews until the end of January to get input from the Community
Services Commission.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
