COUNCILIRDA MEETING DATE: December 10, 1996 CONSENT CALENDAR:
ITEM TITLE: STUDY SESSION:
PUBLIC REARING:
Discussion Relating to a Business
Development and Retention Program
RECOMMENDATION:
Provide direction to staff.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funding levels will be determined as program descriptions and parameters are defined.
Revenue sources for this program could include the City's General Fund and the
Agency's Project No.1 and Project No.2 Redevelopment Funds.
BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW:
The City's Redevelopment Agency received a report September 1 7, 1 996 outlining
potential parameters for a business development and retention program. Subsequent
to that meeting, staff continued its investigation into program options. Attachment
1 represents a status report of that investigation to-date and is submitted for the City
Council's review and consideration. Frank Spevacek, RSG, will be in attendance at
the Study Session to more fully describe program alternatives.
FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES:
Staff is seeking direction from the City Council on those programs of interest that
staff should pursue and more fully develop.
