OF COUNCIL MEMBER TO FILL UNEXPIRED TERM WHICH EXPIRES
NOVEMBER 7, 1995.
Mayor Pena advised that all applicants will be sequestered until their name is called and
asked that members of the audience not share the questions with the applicants during the
recesses in the interest of fairness.
Council Member Sniff suggested that each applicant make a brief opening statement of
not more than 2-3 minutes and that the Council then proceed to ask questions of the
applicant with follow-up questions afterward and that there be no time limits imposed,
but to try to keep the interviews at around 20 minutes each. Further, once the interview
is over that there be no opportunity for the applicant to make any additional statements
and that no applicant be eliminated from consideration until one applicant receives a
majority vote.
