RE: Field Trip, January 21, 1998
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my role regarding the parcels in Section
29.
In recent years, I have fornied a partnership and acquired majority interest in the La Quinta
Ranch" project which from time to time has been referred to as the Meyer Parcel". Mr. Meyer is
still an active partner because we share the vision for the project.
My goal is to develop one of the finest projects in the Valley whereby our average lot size will be
1.5 acre, even though our present zoning is 2 to 4 units per acre. I have entertained proposals
ftom a number of developers; and, they all are more interested in providing higher density and
lower quality. To date, I have been able to resist the temptation of proceeding in that direction.
I am pleased that you are able to inspect our property. To assist your orientation to issues and
pending issues I have commissioned the following services:
1) RBF Engineering to assist with the on-site visit.
2) Stuart Architecture to provide planning aides and materials enclosed).
3) Various other consultants that have contributed in the process.
I believe in the uniqueness of La Quinta as a special place in the Desert, I hope that you will see
that my vision for this property continues that uniqueness.
I welcome any ideas and suggestions that you may have which would help facilitate the process.
Sincerely,
D?sooney?
