A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING
PROCEEDINGS RELATIVE TO ANNEXATION NO. 1,
PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT COD? SECTION 35220.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
California, as follows:
a) 54% of the registered voters and owners of 58% of
the assessed valuation of land in the proposed
Annexation No. 1 have submitted petitions requesting
annexation to the City of La Quinta.
b) Annexation No. 1 consists of approximately 1,548 acres
generally located south of Fred Waring Drive, east of
Washington Street, north of the northerly La Quinta
City boundary and west of the Indio City boundary and
Jefferson Street, and is referred to as LAFCO No. 83-21-4.
c) The area proposed to be annexed is inhabited, there
being twelve 12) or more registered voters residing
therein.
d) The annexation is proposed to provide more municipal
services by the City of La Quinta to the territory to
be annexed.
e) There are no extraordinary terms and conditions con-
tained in the Commission Is Resolution making determinations.
f) The public hearing on the proposed annexation shall be
held Thursday, October 13 1983, at 7:30 p.m., at the
La Quinta Hotel, La Cita Room, 49-499 Eisenhower Drive,
La Quinta, California.
g) Any owner of land within the territory or any registered
voter residing within the territory may file a written
protest against the annexation with the City Clerk of
the City of La Quinta, P. 0. Box 1504, 78-105 Calle
Estado, La Quinta, California 92253, at any time prior
to the conclusion of the public hearing.

PROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 9 THROUGH 15, 1983
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK IN LA QUINTA
WHEREAS, the potentiality of fire in La Quinta S
dry and warm climate is great at all times, both indoors
and outdoors; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of fire prevention and
protection a9encics to keep the people of the City of
La Quinta ever aware of our fire menace; and
WHEREAS, these agencies and similar ones throughout
Ri\?erside County are currently conducting a series of
open houses and demonstrations to teach the public how
to prevent fires; now therefore,
E IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
La Quinta, State of California, in regular session
assembles on September 20, 1983 that the period from

urged to participate in the Fire Prevention programs
being conducted in all the local fire stations.
