MINUTES
MAY 6, 1997
Regular meeting of the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency was called to order by
Chairman Sniff.
PRESENT: Board Members Adolph, Henderson, Holt, Perkins, Chairman Sniff

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Board Members Adolph/Henderson that the Minutes of April 1 5,
1 997 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
BUSINESS SESSION
1. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO JOIN WITH CITIES IN THE COACHELLA
VALLEY SUPPORTING SENATE BILL 71 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$2,500 AND AUTHORIZE AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY HOUSING FUND.
Mr. Herman, Community Development Director, advised that 5B71, which
has been sponsored by Senator Kelley, will allow the cities in Coachella
Valley to transfer low income housing funds from one jurisdiction to another
in exchange for credit for their own housing obligations. The $2,500 is a
contribution toward a lobbyist to pursue this matter in Sacramento.
MOTION It was moved by Board Members Adolph/Holt to approve the
request of CVAG and authorize the appropriation of $2,500 from the
Redevelopment Agency Housing Funds. Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION It was moved by Board Members Adolph/Henderson to approve
the Consent Calendar as recommended. Motion carried unanimously.

S. HARRIS.

REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF
WASHINGTON STREET AND MILES AVENUE. NEGOTIATOR FOR
POTENTIAL ACQUISITION: JOHN SALINERO.
4. CONFERENCE WITH AGENCY'S REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATOR PURSUANT TO
GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.8 CONCERNING THE POTENTIAL TERMS
