MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEM
This Memorandum of Understanding (the "MOU") made and entered into this 3RD day
of March, 1998, by and between the Coachella Valley Association of 3overnments
and the City of La Quinta (the "Contributing Organization") is to confirm the
contribution of $15,000 for the purpose of purchasing a Thermal Imagi ig System to
be mounted on the California Highway Patrol Helicopter located at the Th rmal Airport.
1. Purpose
Funding contributed under this MOU will be combined with funding receiv d from other
contributing organizations for the purpose of purchasing a Thermal Imagi g System to
be mounted on the California Highway Patrol helicopter located at Ther al Airport.
2. Role of CVAG
The role CVAG will be limited to assisting in the collection of fu ds from the
contributing organizations and acting as a "Banker" for the disburseme t of funds to
a lead agency.
3. Lead Agency
The California Highway Patrol will be the lead agency for the technical ortion of the
procurement process and a lead city, for the purposes of procurer7ent, will be
designated at a date prior to the collection of any funds related to this OU.
4. Benefit
It is so stated that the purchase of the above described equipment is of
Contributing Organization in providing necessary advanced te(
enforcement services.
5. Funding
If funding contributions are not sufficient to purchase the stated equip

8. Indemnification
Contributing Organization agrees to indemnify, defend (upon request
save harmless CVAG, its appointed officials, officers, agents and empl,

damages of any nature whatsoever.
