CC Resolution 2002-036 RESOLUTION NO. 2002-36 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 2001-14, FOR A FIRE STATION CASE NO.: CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 2001-14 APPLICANT: CITY OF LA QUINTA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta, California, did on the 5th day of March, 2002, hold a duly noticed Public Hearing to consider the design of a fire station to be located on the west side of Adams Street, approximately 800 feet north of Miles Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of La Quinta, California did on the 26th day of February, 2002, hold a duly noticed Public Hearing to consider the design of a fire station to be located on the west side of Adams Street, approximately 800 feet north of Miles Avenue; and WHEREAS, said Capital Improvement Project request has complied with the requirements of "The Rules to Implement the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970" as amended by Resolution 83-68, in that Environmental Assessment 2001- 440 has been recommended with mitigation measures for certification; and, WHEREAS, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said City Council did find the following facts, findings, and reasons to justify approving said Capital Improvement Project: 1. The Capital Improvement Project is consistent with the City's General Plan in that the proposed project furthers the City's General Plan goals for a full service community. The use is consistent with the goals and policies and intent of the General Plan Land Use Element (Chapter 2). 2. The approval of this Capital Improvement Project is consistent with the Zoning Ordinance in that the project will conform to development standards contained in the Development Code. 3. The proposed land use will not create conditions materially detrimental to the public health, safety and general welfare or injurious to, or incompatible with other land uses in that the project will integrate into the existing neighborhood. That the above recitations are true and constitute the findings of the City Council in this case; 2. That the City Council does hereby approve Capital Improvement Project 2001- 14, to allow a fire station on the west side of Adams Street, approximately 800 feet north of Miles Avenue, subject to the Conditions of Approval, attached hereto and made a part of as Exhibit "A". The height of the palm trees is to be substantial. ~:. 2. The design of the landscaping along the driveway and over the entire site shall take into consideration the grade. 3. Vine material shall be added to the wall on the street side, west side and south side. 4. The pine trees in the streetscape shall be replaced with something consistent with what is across Adams Street (no Pepper trees). 5. The perimeter wall shall be split face and a split face veneer used instead of the wainscoting. 6. The roof shall be a barrel or "S" tile having a terra cotta color.
