AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINT A. CALIFORNIA. AMENDING CHAPTER 3.
SECTIONS, 3.28.180 (G) AND 3.28.370 OF THE LA
QUINT A CHARTER AND MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWAL DATES.
THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINT A. CALIFORNIA. DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of La Quinta has duly considered the
recommendations of the Finance Department and City Treasurer; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of La Quinta to
amend Chapter 3 of the La Quinta Charter and Municipal Code relating to Business
License renewal dates; and
WHEREAS, the changes will result in better customer awareness of the dates
~ of expiration of business licenses and will result in reduced expenditure of staff
¡ time to process business license renewals,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La
Quinta, California that it does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 3, Section 3.28.180 (G) is hereby repealed and
replaced to read as follows - "Renewal Date" means the. date listed for renewal on
the permit.
SECTION 2. Chapter 3, Section 3.28.370 is hereby repealed and replaced to
read as follows - Unless otherwise specifically provided, all annual license fees
shall be due and payable on or before the renewal date.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty (30) days after its adoption. /

SECTION 4. POSTING. The City Clerk shall certtfay to the passag'å.,. and
adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be"PO$ied in at least t~e
public places designated by Resolution of the Ci~y Council, and shall cause this
- Ordinance and its certification, together with proof of posting, to be entered into
the Book of Ordinances of this City.
