AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION
2.06.020(C) OF THE LA QUINTA MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND
COMMITTEES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
, SECTION 1. Section 2.06.020(C) of the La Quinta Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
�. All members of boards, commissions and committees of the city
appointed by the city council shall be initially, and during their
incumbencies bona fide residents and registered voters of the city, and no
such member at or during such time shall be an employee of the City.
Non-resident members serving on the Investment Advisory Board or the
Historic Preservation Commission as of July 1, 2004, may continue to
serve and may seek reappointment until such time as they resign or are
replaced by action of the City Council.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect thirty (30) days after its adoption.
SECTION 3. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ACTIONS: All prior
esolutions or ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
This .includes, but is not limited to, City Council Resolution No. 95-97.
SECTION 4. POSTING: The City Clerk shall, within fifteen (15) days
after passage of this Ordinance, cause the same to be posted in at least three (3)
three places within the City of La, Quinta designated by resolution of the City
Council; shall certify to the adoption and posting of this Ordinance; and shall cause
this Ordinance and its certification, together with proof of posting to be entered
into the Book of Ordinances of the City of La Quinta.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta
City Council held on this 3`d day of August, 2004, by the following vote:
