51813 Vallejo (Avenida) DPR 523L (09/2013) Identifier: CRM TECH 1885-105 Date Constructed: 1936 UTM Zone: 11S, 563972 mE / 3725803 mN Neighborhood: The Cove Tract: Santa Carmelita Unit No 5; Recorded July 31, 1934, MB 18/63 Owner and Address: Anthony Barlow, Tabitha Barlow; 51813 Avenida Vallejo, La Quinta CA 92253 Updated Description: The 51813 Avenida Vallejo residence was constructed in 1936 in the La Quinta Cove neighborhood. The one story single family residence was constructed in the Spanish Eclectic style. The residence has an irregular form and a low-pitch front gable roof clad in red tiles. The roof has narrow, open eaves. The exterior of the residence is clad in stucco. The subject property is surrounded by a high privacy wall making determining alterations difficult. A detached garage was added to the property after the construction of the initial dwelling. Windows appear to have also been replaced along the primary elevation facing the public right- of-way. These modifications appear to be minor. There does not appear to be any significant alterations since the previous survey. The red tile roofing, exposed roof beams, and the stucco siding appears to be extant. Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 5D1 - contributor to a district that is listed or designated locally. This district has not been formally designated. The current survey found that the dwelling retains a sufficient level of integrity for contributor status from the prior survey. The 2022 evaluation is that the property should instead be assigned a 5D2 status code: Contributor to a multi-component resource that is eligible for local listing or designation. The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible Criterion B/2/B, as it has not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional, state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.
