CRM Tech described the property as a Ranch style single-family residence in 2006. Urbana staff conclude that residence more specifically displays the characteristics of a Tract Ranch style residential property with Custom elements built by the Westward Ho and Bellwood Discount Corporation. The one-story residence with an attached garage faces north from the south side of Westward Ho Drive. The single-family dwelling has an asymmetrical facade and a low-profile L-shaped floorplan. The low-pitched cross gable roof is topped with composite shingles and has a moderate eave overhang, boxed eaves, and a wide brick chimney. The exterior is clad in stucco painted in tan and the fenestration consists of vinyl single / multi-lite windows and vinyl multi-lite sliding doors located towards the rear (south) elevation. The off-centered main entryway is sheltered below the main roofline and features a fanlight wood panel door. The attached garage features a double fanlight wood panel overhead door. A concrete masonry unit wall partially extends along the main (north) elevation. There do not appear to be any significant alterations to the dwelling since the prior survey other than a roof replacement between 2015 and 2016 that removed the original wood shake roof and installed asphalt composite shingles. Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local Register designation. The current survey found that the dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934- 1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. It was one of the earliest homes built within the Indian Springs residential subdivision by the Westward Ho and Bellwood Discount Corporation, but the subdivision is not proposed as a historic district. The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible Criterion B/2/B, as it has not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional, state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.
