The following are our Januaryll, 1986, as I discussed.with December 20, 1985 RECEIVED DEC 2 31985 CITY OF LA UINTA COMMUNITY DEVEL PMENT DEPT with our promotion of Line plans for the promotion on you. - Boy Scouts under adult leadership will be distributing door knob bags of SunBus literature to all households within a two block radius of our SunBus route which is.Washington STreet from Highway 111, south to Eisenhower,.turning right on Eisenhower, then right on Obregon, south to Portreo, east on Portrero to Eisenhower, then north on Eisenhower to WAshington STreet and back again to Highway 111. In conjunction with this, which should take place from 8 a.m. to noon, we -wish to "decorate" our SunBus signs at each bus stop (approximately 22 of them) with helium filled number 9 green and yellow balloons. We plan from 7 to 10 balloons per bunch at each stop. They will be on strings one yard long so they will soar about two feet above the signs once they are attached to the poles immediately under the "map" portion of the sign. A number 9 balloon is about the size of a dinner plate or perhaps slightly smaller. The ballons will not litter, as. if they come loose, they will -soar away. We will plan on removing any remaining balloons that evening by 5 p.m. The purpose of all -of this is to promote additional useage of Line 4 on SAturdays. This is anew service in La Quinta, and if we cannot increase ridership, the City.of La Quinta will lose it. If you have any additional suggestions for us in this promotion, we welcome them. Thank you for your consideration of our request. You may call me at 347-9463 if you need additional'.information. Sincerely, SUNLINE TRANSIT AGENCY Jeri Taylor, Promotion Coordinator 32-505 Harry Oliver Trail • Thousand Palms, California 92276 • (619) 343-3456 9
