MINOR ADJUSTMENT REQUEST: To reduce the interior garage dimension from 20x20 feet to.19.67 feet x20 feet. DECISION: Approval is granted for the requested reduction, based on the following findings: • Minor Adjustment 2002-503 is consistent with the La Quinta General Plan, in that the reduction proposed does not alter the approved land use for the property, or affect land use on surrounding similar properties. • Minor Adjustment 2002-503 is consistent with the intent of the La Quinta Zoning Code, in that the requested adjustment does not affect the required 20- foot minimum setback at the garage area, and will not detrimentally affect the minimum garage depth as required under the Zoning Code. This request is for a 1.65% reduction in the standard, whereas the maximum request can be for up to a 10% reduction. • Processing and approval of Minor Adjustment 2002-503 is in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act. The adjustment requested falls under CEQA Guidelines Section 15305(a), which includes minor setback and parcel adjustments as Categorically Exempt under this Section. When ' .. the third garage was enclosed, the wall was built 'at the point where the washer and dryer just had enough room to -fit between the wall and the • doorway. • We did not realize; at that- timee,;that we' were four inches short of : the zoning ordinance.
