and
Jordan/Central Implement Company, 1280 E. Main St. Brawley, CA 92227
This agreement is made and entered into between the City of La Quinta and Jordan/Central Implement Co.
PURPOSE:
To provide after hours emergency equipment rentals to the City 24/7/365 to enable the City to
provide continuity of government during emergency situations.
II. TERM:
The length of this agreement shall be five (5) years from the date of signing or until at which time it
is cancelled in writing by either party, which cancellation becomes effective 30 days upon delivery to
the other party.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The City of La Quinta will be responsible to:
a. make equipment requests to Jordan/Central Implement Company, by authorized City
staff;
b. provide the locations and equipment requirements in each request;
c. process invoice payments through normal finance office procedures, within 30 days
upon receipt of invoice;
d. pay the normal rental rate for equipment and services requested;
e. assist Jordan/Central Implement Company in delivery access by notifying law
enforcement and/or providing a City vehicle escort as needed to facilitate delivery to
City facilities.
2. Jordan/Central Implement Company will be responsible to:
a. provide at least two (2) after hours contact phone numbers of key staff (answering
services are not acceptable) and/or other means of contact for emergency equipment
requests;
b. provide equipment delivery as soon as practical, or as agreed to with the City staff
making the request, within the time frames requested;
c. provide equipment that has been filled with gas/fuel and in good operating order;
d. respond to emergency equipment requests any day of the calendar year during the
term of this agreement regardless of holidays, time of day or weekend periods;
e. provide additional deliveries of equipment under the terms of this agreement if the
emergency so demands;
f. obtain a City of La Quinta business license, when required, in order for the City to pay
for any services/supplies/equipment provided under this agreement.
IV. CONDITIONS:
1. Jordan/Central Implement Company makes no warranties or promises of availability and or
priority; however, Jordan/Central Implement Company will work with The City of La Quinta to
provide emergency services in an efficient and timely manner.
