Ew4t4 y� L ,'� 4a .� , `. �!`. ������ �, �_,� � Retention Basin Design Calculations Tract No.29963 OVERVIEW The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum storage volume required to contain the entire runoff from the 100 -year peak storm event. In order to determine the maximum flood volume the 3, 6 and 24 hour storms have been analyzed using the synthetic unit method as described in the Riverside County Hydrology Manual. The analysis herein assumes a zero infiltration velocity. The existing topography shows that in general the terrain slopes to the south. The existing conditions of the project site are such that there will be no runoff entering the property because of an existing perimeter wall. All storm flows being retained are generated by onsite areas only. Access is from a cul -de -sac on the north that flows southerly then easterly. Surface water flows in an earthen swale along the right -of -way. These are existing conditions and the revisions to this site do not effect or change the existing drainage course. A copy of the revised rough grading plan has been included with this report to graphically show this condition. The project site has two proposed retention basins, one that borders the property to the north and one that borders the property to the south. The retention basins tributaries are as shown on the exhibit included with this report. Flood water entering the retention basin by overland flow will be allowed to pond up to the maximum depth as determined by the calculations on the following pages. Each basin has been analyzed separately to develop peak volumes and flood hydrographs. ANALYSIS Based of the results from the flood analysis, the following chart was developed to show the peak volume of water that would need to be retained within the defined retention basin area. Results show that the greatest volume of water produced in basins 1 and 2 was during the 100 year 24 -hour storm event. P&D Consultants, Inc. BEATYPACIFIC.
