SUBJECT: MINOR USE PERMIT 2018-0006
LARGE FAMILY DAYCARE: 79854 MEMORIAL PLACE
Dear Ms. King:
The Design and Development Department has reviewed and approved your request
for a large family daycare (maximum 14 children) at 79854 Memorial Place, subject
to Section 9.60.190 of the La Quinta Municipal Code, based on the following findings:
1. The land use is consistent with the general plan.
2. The use is consistent with the provisions of this zoning code.
3. Processing and approval of the permit application are in compliance with
the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act.
4. Approval of the application will not create conditions materially detrimental
to the public health, safety and general welfare or injurious to or incompatible
with other properties or land uses in the vicinity.
The approval is subject to the information and exhibit on file and the following
conditions of approval:
1. All license(s) from the appropriate agency/agencies, including the State of
California Health and human Services Agency, shall be obtained prior to
operation of the daycare
2. The home shall be equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and
other fire safety equipment as specific by the Fire Marshall and/or state
regulators. The applicant is required to meet with the fire inspector prior to
operation of the daycare.
3. All outdoor play equipment shall be fully enclosed by a minimum of five-foot
high fence. No such play area shall be provided where fences are less than
five feet in height.
4. Outdoor activities shall be limited to between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00
p.m.
The City may elect to add conditions of approval to this application request to
mitigate any problems that arise not previously addressed herein. If you have any
