Contractor will provide labor, irrigation materials, and equipment for
installation of plant and hardscape materials.
Contractor is responsible for mobilization, site protection, and dust control.
Means and methods required to perform the work are to be determined by
Contractor.
Lane Closures, decomposed granite (DG), rock and plant material to be
provided by the City.
To minimize disruption to residents and school traffic, contractor will
coordinate work schedules with the City, working hours can begin at 8:00 a.m.

The overall length of the Median is roughly 1,074 ft. with a section of paved stone
separating two sections.
- First section: 244 feet; Length of wide (8’) to narrow portion: 88 ft
o Narrow section 156’
- Second section: 830 feet; Length of wide (10’) to narrow area: 128 feet
o Narrow section 702’
- Width of narrow sections: 5 feet
Note: measurements at estimated, actual measurements need to be taken on site.
Basic Concept: (Adjustments will be made on site)
Mobilization includes expenditures for all preparatory work and operations,
including but not limited to, those costs necessary for the movement of
personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the project site; for the
establishment of all facilities necessary for work on the project; and for all
other work and operations which must be performed or costs incurred prior
to beginning work on the various contract items on the project site as well
as the related demobilization costs anticipated at the completion of the
project.
Irrigation: All pipe 3” and smaller shall be Schedule 40 PVC Type 1, Grade
1 pipe. All plastic pipes will bear the following markings: the manufacturer’s
name, nominal pipe size or schedules. Note: Irrigation sleeves have been
previously installed at the landscape islands. Contactor is responsible to
connect irrigation to the existing system.
Main Line Fittings will be solvent welded using pipe primer ASTM F656 and
pipe solvent ASTM D-2564. All other fittings will be solvent welded with pipe
solvent ASTM D-2564, NSF or approved equal.
Fertilizer is to be applied at planting of palm trees and shrubs. Industry
standard generic fertilizer on installation.
Boulders: Bury boulders 1/3 of boulder dimension so that they appear in
natural state. Orientation of boulder shall expose most surface area possible
set as approved by Project Manager.
Crushed rock is to be spread over the planting area to a 2” depth. Apply
moisture after spreading and raking to compact and remove dust.
