AV INSTALLATION & TRAINING The first step in any new audiovisual project is identifying the functionality required while creating a realistic AV budget to work from. Western AV’s team of design specialists works with each client to define the needs of individual users and ultimately, configure what technology is needed to create collaborative, easy-to-use, future proof meeting spaces. DESIGN : BUDGETING : NEEDS ANALYSIS PROJECT MANAGEMENT Key Personnel Jay schellin General Manager In 1986, Mr. Schellin started J*O*S Projection Systems, Inc. which provided Integrated System Solutions to a diverse clientele. Some of these clients included: NASA, JPL, Intel, Hughes, Motorola, Northrop, Charles Schwab, as well as all Branches of the Military. With ofﬁces in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Phoenix, J*O*S primarily served the Southwestern U.S. In 1998, J*O*S was acquired by the largest A/V company in the U.S. to transition them into the System Integration business. As part of the sale Mr. Schellin remained on board till 2001 as Vice-President, Systems Integration Group. Mr. Schellin is an alumnus of Pepperdine University, where in his senior year he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics. His career with the Athletics lasted a brief 3 years at which time he began his career outside athletics in the mainframe division of National Semiconductor. Mr. Schellin left National Semiconductor in 1986 to start J*O*S Projection Systems, Inc. Erik Wilson Director of EngineeringCTS-D, DMC-E With an AA degree in Electronics, Erik has more than 17 years of industry experience with a specialization in Control Room Displays utilizing edge blending. He has traveled all over the world for British Petroleum designing and ﬁne tuning these systems. He started his career in the A/V industry with Ampro in Florida before moving to California and working with J.O.S. Projection Systems. He has performed many different jobs in the Audio Visual world including- ﬁnal setup technician for CRT projectors, Service Technician, Project Manager, System Designer, System Sales, Engineer and currently Director of Engineering. He has many certiﬁcations including those from Biamp, Crestron, Christie, AMX, Panasonic as well as others. Erik also holds a CTS-D certiﬁcation from InfoComm International. He has designed many high proﬁle projects including: ConAgra Foods, Intel, Nobel Biocare, UCLA School of Medicine, Allergan, DWP, SDG&E, City of Victorville, Unocal, and Genentech. He specializes in projects ranging from $750,000 to $2,000,000. Erik is considered by many in our industry as one of the top engineers in the country. Steve Hollingsworth Project Principle, DMC-D With a Business Administration degree from San Diego State University, Steve began his career with the San Diego Padres as a Project Manager in the Stadium Operations Department, acting as a liaison between the Padres, Major League Baseball, the City of San Diego and Service America. Steve has been involved with the Audio Visual industry since 1994. He has worked as a System Designer, Salesperson, Project Manager and Regional Manager in the industry. He started out with J.O.S. Projection Systems in 1994 and was part of the group that was acquired by MCSi in 1998. While there he ran the most successful region in the company. His experience working on large, high proﬁle projects has impressed industry peers as well as clients. Due to his broad technical knowledge, Steve has the ability to solve complex integration challenges. The key phrase “Experience is Golden” certainly applies to him, and gives his clients the greatest beneﬁt of all. The biggest compliment anyone can get is repeat customers. Steve has continued to do business with many of his ﬁrst clients from 1994. Some of these clients are: Northrop Grumman, National University, Biogen Idec, Allergan, Cal State Fullerton, SAIC, US Navy, IBM, Conexant, HBO, Intuit. Kevin Mahkorn Service Manager, DMC-D Kevin started in the industry in 2007 working as a Project Coordinator. Kevin worked directly with the project management & engineering teams on all new & existing projects. His attention to detail, knowledge of installation requirements in the ﬁeld and coordination with end users made Kevin an integral part of the technical services department. In 2009 Kevin was promoted to Service Manager where he was tasked with building and maintaining a fully functioning service department. During that time Kevin received great praise from clients & colleges by providing outstanding service and support. Kevin has a loyal following of customers that have followed him through his career. He is recognized by many of our industry suppliers as the top in his ﬁeld and have continued to steer there service business Kevin’s way since it has had such a positive effect on their business. Kevin has worked on many high proﬁle projects such as: Taco Bell corporate headquarters, Herbalife LA Live, Metlife, WATG, Intuit, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Citrus College, Cerritos College and Bank of America. Shelby Toal Project Manager, PMP, DMC-D Shelby has 12 years of experience in the Audio Visual industry. Before joining the Audio Visual industry, Shelby was a Sergeant in the Marine Corp. for 6 years. He started his career at MCSi and has worked for a couple other large Integration companies before arriving at Western Audio Visual. He is Sr. Project Manager designated as the training coordinator for all new hires. His experience is full range starting with simple systems and the past 7 years spent on all large scale projects. Some of these projects include: Herbalife-LA Live ($1.5 million), Taco Bell ($1 million), UCLA Medical Center, USC Medical Center, Mayo Hospital, City of Hope, Cal State Univ., Dominguez Hills, UC Irvine. Some city projects he has completed include: City of Temecula, City of West Hollywood, City of Irvine, City of Brea and City of Buena Park. Phillip Alderson Engineer CTS, DMC-D Phillip has 14 years of experience in the Audio Visual industry. During which time he has had many different job functions such as Installation Supervisor, Project Manager, Field Engineer and Sales Engineer. His certiﬁcations range from Clearone, Lutron, Extron, AMX, Scala and Polycom. He has been a part of projects ranging from Corporate, Government, Higher Education, as well as Performing Arts. Some of these projects were for Taco Bell, Herbalife and various colleges throughout Southern California. Ray Stevens Service Technician, DMC-D Ray started in the Audio Visual industry in 1998 as an Engineering assistant. He has performed many job functions over the 14 years. Some of these roles were Installation technician, service coordinator, inside sales and Project Management. Ray holds certiﬁcations for Crestron Programming, Crestron DMC-D, Hilti, OSHA. Some of his clients include: Intuit, American Career College, Citrus College, Southwestern Law, Irvine Ranch Water District. Mark Blindauer Senior Installation TechnicianDMC-T, DMC-E, CTS-i Mark has over 14 years of experience in the Audio Visual industry. He started in the rental/staging world, and then moved into the integration side. He has numerous certiﬁcations including, CTS, CTS-I, Crestron DMC-T. He is Western Audio Visual’s project closer. Jeff Schellin Programmer - AMX-Ace CertifiedCrestron, DMC-D Jeff has worked in the Audio Visual industry since 1989 staring out with J.O.S. Projection Systems. He has performed many different functions on the Integration side from System Designer, System Sales, Project Manager, Programmer and Director of Programming. When at MCSi he managed and trained all the programmers. He is a certiﬁed programmer on Crestron and AMX systems (ACE Certiﬁcation). The upgrade included cameras, broadcast automation, projector and microphones. CITY OF TEMECULa CONTRACT AMOUNT: $1.2 MILLION COMPLETION DATE: NOVEMBER 2011 JONATHAN HALL jonathan.hall@cityoftemecula.org 951-308-6323 PROJECT DESCRIPTION As part of the new City Hall facility, the City of Temecula installed this state-of-art Multimedia presentation and Voting system. At the heart of the system is a custom AMX control system which allows the Deputy City Clerk to take complete control of all functions of the system including lighting control, full microphone control and all recording functions. A variety of sources including VHS playback, DVD playback, Document Camera, Laptop computer, Network PC and the local broadcast feed can be projected on the 195” diagonal RP Visuals rear projection system using a 10,000 Lumen, high resolution Panasonic DLP projector. In addition, all sources can also be displayed on 19” monitors, located at the council dais and staff locations. These same monitors are used for voting as well. All video and audio signals are routed to the local cable company for public broadcast using a Leightronix Nexus event scheduler. The Nexus also provides all content for the local PEG channels. All meetings are streamed to the Sire website for archived playback as well. All voting functions and paperless agenda are handled by the Sire system as well. An audio recording system saves all of the proceedings on the network computer for dictation at a later time if necessary.The system not only allows more efﬁcient communication within the Council Chambers during proceedings, but provides the public with more of the information that is being presented during the bimonthly meetings within the City of Temecula Council Chambers. IRVINE TMC CONTRACT AMOUNT: $225,000 COMPLETION DATE: FEB. 2015 armando rutledge arutledge@ci.irvine.ca.us 949-724-7336 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Irvine has 47 cameras feeding into their traffic management center to manage traffic throughout the city. They utilize four Mitsubishi rear projection engines. They are also tied into the Caltrans feed to monitor other areas. Disclosure Statement Western Audio Visual has nothing to disclose regarding Contract failures, any civil or criminal litigation or investigation pending, which involves Western Audio Visual or in which Western Audio Visual has been judged guilty or liable within the past 5 years. STANDARD WARRANTY Western Audio Visual warrants the Audiovisual System furnished to be free from defects in workmanship (i.e. cables, connections, structures) failure for a period of 1 Year from the date of acceptance or first beneficial use, whichever occurs first. Warranty service for such defects will be handled in a reasonable and timely manner from the time of notification to Western Audio Visual by the Owner or their agent. Manufacturer's equipment warranties are of varying lengths (usually 90 days to 1 year). Western Audio Visual will warranty this equipment for the term established by the manufacturer on a depot basis only. Warranty does not apply to any product that has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident or operational error. EXTENDED WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT Preventative Maintenance An Western Audio Visual qualified technician shall perform pro-actively scheduled preventative maintenance for the Covered Equipment. All of the Covered Equipment will be cleaned, tested, adjusted, and aligned for optimum system performance. A written document shall be provided detailing all services performed, observations, new settings created, any recommendations for equipment replacement and/or upgrades, and any malfunctions found with our recommended solution upon completion of each such visit. E-mail & Telephone Response Times Requests for service & support submitted either via e-mail and/or telephone will receive a response or call-back within the response time guaranteed by the Program Level. Telephone Technical Support An Western Audio Visual qualified technician shall be available for telephone technical support during the normal business hours (PPM**) of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. On-site Technical Support Responses For reported issues that cannot be resolved via technical telephone support, an Western Audio Viusal qualified technician shall be available as required for an on-site technical response. Each Program Level allots for a number of responses per year in association with service & support requests, and guarantee that a qualified technician shall be on-site within a specified timeframe upon receipt of the initial call. There shall be no charge for any on-site service performed during the normal business hours (PPM**) of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional responses in excess of the allotted number per the Program Level shall be charged at $120.00 per technician, per hour. There is a 2-hour minimum for each response. Responses requested by the Client outside of normal business hours (Non-PPM***) shall be charged at $180.00 per technician, per hour. All video and audio signals are routed to the local cable company for public broadcast using a Leightronix Nexus event scheduler. The Nexus also provides all content for the local PEG channels. All meetings are streamed to the Granicus website for archived playback as well. All voting functions and paperless agenda are handled by the Granicus system as well.
