A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING
THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD ON THE THIRD (3rd) DAY OF
NOVEMBER 2020, DECLARING THE RESULTS
AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY
LAW
WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in
the City of La Quinta, California, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, as required
by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of election was given in time, form and manner as
provided by law, candidates were nominated to fill the vacancy or vacancies
as provided by law; the election was held and conducted and the votes were
cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time,
form and manner as required by the provisions of the laws of the State of
California relating to General Law cities and the Charter of the City of La
Quinta; and
WHEREAS, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters canvassed the
returns of the election and has certified the results to the City of La Quinta,
and said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit
“A”; and
WHEREAS, said General Municipal election was held for the purpose
of electing the following officers of said City as required by the laws relating
to cities in the State of California:
One (1) Mayor of the City Council for the full term of two (2) years; and
Two (2) Members of the City Council for the full term of four (4) years
each.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of La Quinta, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the names of persons, in alpha order, voted for during
said election for Mayor of the La Quinta City Council is as follows:
