A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA
QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2015/16 PROPOSITION 1 WATER QUALITY,
SUPPLY, AND INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, California's 2014 Water Bond, approved through Proposition 1,
provides funding opportunities at the local level to address the State's limited water
resources; and
WHEREAS, Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy is the local administrator
for regional Proposition 1 funding and shall make available funds for Fiscal Year
2015/16 for water quality, supply, and infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to file an application to apply for $716,187 for its
Fiscal Year 2015/16 Capital Improvement Projects on a funds -matching basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City hereby approves the submission of an application for the
Proposition 1 Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Grant Program in the amount
of $716,187 for water related infrastructure projects.
SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to be the
Lead Agency Representative of the City of La Quinta to conduct all negotiations,
execute and submit all documents, amendments, payment requests and other
administrative duties, which may be necessary of the aforementioned project.
SECTION 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute the grant
application documents between the City and Coachella Valley Mountains
Conservancy, upon concurrence of the City Attorney, for the funding allocation.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta City
Council held on this 3rd day of November, 2015, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members, Osborne, Pena, Radi, Mayor Evans
