03/31/2021 5:00 pm 0.25 I received a call from who was very upset. He stated he
wanted to speak with a supervisor so that he can file a complaint. He
became increasingly upset throughout the conversation. I was able
to calm him down and speak to him about the case. I asked that he
move the blue ford focus back into the garage. I advised this will
eliminate that violation. I asked about the white vehicle. He stated
the vehicle now has tags. He stated his girlfriend found tags and
placed them on the car. I asked if the tags belong to this vehicle, he
stated he was unsure she was the one that found them. Please
check with DMV again to confirm if the tags are current and belong
to this vehicle. He asked to speak with Supervisor Meredith again. I
advised he was not in the office but I could give him his email

04/03/2021 11:35 am 0.25 An inspection revealed the white Toyota Camry previously displayed
tags expiring on 06/2020 and now display 06/2021. I will run the
plates with the DMV to see if they are accurate of if
has switched tags from another vehicle.

04/09/2021 10:30 am 0.25 I called the DMV and provided the CA license plate and
the technician stated the 2005 Toyota expired on 6/2020. I
mentioned the vehicle currently has a red 2021 tag on the plate and
if it was possible the car has been recently licensed. The technician
replied no as the information would be available if renewed. As the
DMV confirmed the tags on the car are not for that vehicle, they have
been falsified by being put on the plate. I will drive by and call for a
Deputy to keep the peace while I take a picture of the plate and tag
and send an admin cite to the registered owner

04/09/2021 11:45 am 0.25 I drove by initially and was in the front yard and we made
eye contact. I called dispatch to send a Deputy to keep the peace. A
Deputy arrived and we drove up to the residence. I took photos of
the 2005 white Toyota Camry CA license The license
plate has tags displaying expiration on 06/2021 with a red sticker/tag.
The DMV said the vehicle registration expired on 06/2020. I asked if
there is any way they renewed and it does not show on DMV records
and the technician replied No. I am sending a citation to the
registered owner
for violation of LQMC 11.80.020 for maintaining a vehicle that
is abandoned, wreck, dismantled, or inoperative vehicle located at
51505 Avenida Martinez. By not being registered current with the
DMV it is being stored. By also not being registered it cannot be
driven on a street, road, or highway legally and is therefore being
stored in violation of city code. It is also in violation of LQMC
11.80.090 (B) Vehicle registration. All vehicles parked in public view
in La Quinta are required to display current registration. The tags on
this vehicle are not legitimate as the DMV advised the car
registration expired on 06/2020.

04/12/2021 12:33 pm 0.25 I called the responsible property owner Mr. Jose Garza at
to update him the red wrecked, unlicensed vehicle was
removed, and blue ford focus removed. However white toyota camry
had registration falsified and DMV states vehicle expired June of
2020 and not as displayed as June of 2021. Admin cite sent to
registered owner . Car will need to be operational and
registered current or removed from view into garage or removed
from site. A tarp is not an acceptable remedy.

04/13/2021 12:09 pm 0.25 I called Mr. Jose Garza the owner who is easy to talk
to and very cooperative. I let him know I had planned to reinspect the
white Toyota Camry on Friday. I said if I had a schedule when they
planned to remove the Toyota I could overlook issuing additional
citations until the vehicle is removed. However I can only provide 7-
10 days to do so.
He said he would call his other son that is cooperative and see if he
can talk to his other son and get him to agree to a schedule to
remove the white Toyota Camry.

that the gal gave him the title to the car. He is making
efforts to get it running and licensed. I provided Jose Garza,
cooperative property owner, an extension to May 1, 2021. He said he
is encouraging his son to get the car in the garage by the weekend
and to work on it at his leisure. He said if he gives his son two
weeks, he will get lazy and wont do anything. He said his son said
thank you for giving more time.
