SUBJECT: DIRECTOR’S DETERMINATION REGARDING SALON AT J&S PAUL
PROFESSIONAL BUILDING, LA QUINTA
Dear Ms. Lazalde:
We have received your request to open a salon at 79180 Corporate Center Dr, Suite 4. This
property is located within the La Quinta Corporate Center Specific Plan (SP1999-036) and
Commercial Park (CP) zone. SP1999-036 covers two areas including the area north of
Corporate Center Dr, east of Adams, and the area west of Dune Palms, north and south of
Corporate Center Dr. SP1999-036 states that uses permitted in the SP area are the same
as what is permitted in the CP zone, with some additions and subtractions. The CP zone
allows salons as an accessory use, not as a principal use. As such and pursuant to La Quinta
Municipal Code (LQMC) Section 9.10.060, you have requested a determination by the
director as to whether the salon would be allowed to locate in the above address.
Salon Size and Operations
Based on the office park floor plans submitted, the salon would make up less than 5% of
the total office park area (Attachment 1). The operations proposed include hair cutting,
holistic hair coloring, holistic hair treatments, clinical trichology for hair loss, scalp
treatments for psoriasis & eczema, excessive oily scalps and dandruff, holistic skin
treatments and natural sugaring hair removal (Attachment 2).
Because the salon would make up such a small amount of the office park and this action
would not allow a non-permitted use, the Director has determined that the salon is an
accessory use to the office park and is therefore allowed to locate at the above address. If

Hello Cheri,
Holistic Salon services will be:
Hair cutting, holistic hair coloring, holistic hair treatments, clinical trichology for hair loss,
scalp treatments for people with psoriasis & eczema, excessive oily scalps and dandruff.
Holistic skin treatments like facials, Natural Sugaring (hair removal) it's like waxing but it's with hunny
making it more natural.
hours would be Monday through Sat 8 to 7
Sometimes I do work Sundays depending on peoples schedule.
