A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING THE
START TIME OF HOUSING COMMISSION MEETINGS
WHEREAS, on September 15, 2009, the La Quinta City Council adopted
Resolution No. 2009-075 establishing the La Quinta Housing Authority in accordance with
California Housing Authorities Law (Health and Safety Code Section 34200, etseq.); and
WHEREAS, on October 20, 2009, the La Quinta City Council adopted Ordinance
No. 473 establishing the Housing Commission in accordance with Health and Safety
Code Sections 34291 and 34292; the Housing Commission's function is to review and
make recommendations to all matters to come before the Housing Authority; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with "Section 9 — Meetings" of Ordinance No. 473, "The
Housing Commission shall provide by resolution for the time and place of holding their
regular meetings;" and
WHEREAS, on October 13, 2010, the Commission adopted Housing Commission
Resolution No. 2010-001 establishing that the Commission shall meet at La Quinta City
Hall on the 2"d Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, on December 21, 2011, the Commission adopted Housing
Commission Resolution No. 2011-001 establishing that the Commission shall meet at La
Quinta City Hall, quarterly, on the 2"d Wednesday in the months of March, June,
September, and December, as well as on an as -needed basis, at 6 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, on December 12, 2018, the Commission approved to change its
regular quarterly meetings start time from 6:00 pm to 4:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, on June 14, 2023, Commission members reached a consensus and
expressed a desire to consider changing the Commission's regular quarterly meetings
start time from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. to be better aligned with a standard work -day schedule,
and the proposed time change does not conflict with any other Commissions' meetings;
and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2023, the Housing Commission met and conferred
to determine a location, date, and time for commission meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing Commission of the City
of La Quinta, California, as follows:

SECTION 1. The Housing Commission regular meetings shall be held quarterly on the
2"d Wednesday in the months of March, June, September, and December, starting at 5
p.m.
SECTION 2. The location of the Housing Commission meetings shall be La Quinta City
Hall, 78495 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, California.
SECTION 3. Meetings shall be open to the public; and may be adjourned by the presiding
officer or by the Secretary if quorum is not present.
SECTION 4. Any meeting, once adjourned, may not be reconvened.
SECTION 5. Special meetings may be called as needed in accordance with the City's
Amended and Restated Rules of Procedure for Public Meetings and Related Functions
and Activities for City Boards, Commissions, and Committees, adopted via City Council
Resolution No. 2022-028 on August 2, 2022, and as may be amended from time to time.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular quarterly meeting of the La
Quinta Housing Commission held on this 13th day of September 2023 by the following
vote:
AYES: Commissioners Chapman, Pacheco, Paltin, and Chairperson Gaeta-
Mejia
