*P3a. Description: The 80265 Westward Ho Drive property is a single-story wood frame Tract Ranch residence with Custom elements.
The building faces north from the south side of Westward Ho Drive. The building has an L-shaped plan and asymmetrical façade. It features a
low-pitched side-gabled roof with a front-gable-on-hip end on the east side of the front elevation clad in concrete tiles. The roof has broad
overhanging open eaves with a fascia board and exposed rafters. Exterior walls are clad with board-and-batten siding and stucco. An
attached garage is located on the west end of the front elevation. The fenetration at the front elevation consists of single-lite aluminum
framed sliding windows. The entry is recessed beneath the eave and supported with a wood square post. The front door is wood paneled with
no transom or sidelites. Character defining features of Ranch style homes that can be seen on the subject property include: asymmetrical
façade, wood frame construction, sliding windows, stucco siding, a recessed entry, exposed rafters, and an attached garage.

within the UC Riverside California Digital Newspaper Collection, aerial imagery from ca. 1930s forward, and the Riverside County Assessor's

build an addition (Permit No. 06-3367). In 2006, Black obtained a permit to reroof the residence, with the work completed by Western
Roofing System (Permit No. 06-3956). In 2007, property owners David and Mary Black obtained a permit to build patio cover (Permit No. 07-
0241). Aerial photography did not offer any additional information regarding changes to the property over time. The aluminum framed
sliding windows appear to be original and the form of the dwelling appears to be intact.

The home was built as a Tract Ranch style home within the Desert Date Garden subdivision, originally recorded in 1924. The subject property was
constructed in 1973 by an unidentified builder.
The dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-1970s), being located in one of the early subdivisions outside the Cove
during the mid-20th century. However, the property does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. The property is
assigned a 6Z status code: Found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR or Local Register through survey evaluation.
