^"0 RESOLUTION NO. 85-87
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE LAND
USE ELEMENT OF THE LA QUINTA GENERAL PLAN FOR
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 85-007.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended approval of
General Plan Amendment No. 85-007 pursuant to Section 63350 et seq. of
the California Planning and Zoning Law and has transmitted the same to
this City Council in compliance with Section 65354 of said Law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held at least one public hearing on
General Plan Amendment NO. 85-007, as required by Section 65355 of the
California Planning and Zoning Law; and
WHEREAS, approval of a land use designation of Village Commercial is
consistent with goals and policies set forth in the new La Quinta
General Plan; and
WHEREAS, expansion of commercial land east of Desert Club Drive
on the north side of Calle Tampico is logical and is contiguous to
existing commercial development in the La Quinta downtown area; and
WHEREAS, circulation aspects of the proposed project are consistent
with the new City-Wide General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project is consistent with the Duna La Quinta
Specific Plan as amended in Specific Plan No. 83-002, Amendment No. 2;
and
WHEREAS, approval of this request will not result in a significant
impact on the environment since all potential impacts of the project
have been reduced to a level of insignificance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of La Quinta does hereby amend the La Quinta General Plan Land Use
Element from High Density Residential 10-20 dwellings per acre) for
certain property shown and depicted for such change on the map which
is attached to and made a part of this Resolution, and which attached
map is labelled Exhibit A, General Plan Amendment No. 85-007".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall endorse on said
General Plan Amendment No. 85-007 the date of its adoption by the
City Council and the date of its approval by the Planning Commission.
