* RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF L* QUINT*, C*LIFORNI*, *PPROVING * CABLE
TV FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH PALMER COMMUNI-
CATIONS, INC. CVTV)
WHERE*S, Palmer Communications, Inc., DBA Coachella Valley Tele-
vision CVTV) has provided cable TV services within the Coachella
Valley, including the area now occupied by the City of La Quinta, since
1965 pursuant to a franchise agreement with the County of Riverside;
and
WHERE*S, CVTV has applied for a cable TV franchise with the City
of La *uinta pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 5.10 of the L*
Quinta Municipal Code; and
WHERE*S, the City Council has held a public hearing on th* matter
of the grant of said cable TV franchise and the execution of an aqree
ment pursuant thereto, at its regular meeting of June 17, 1996, at
which time the Council heard and considered the testimony and evidence
of all interested persons; and
WHERE*S, it is deemed in the best interest of the City to grant a
nonexclusive franchise to CVTV in accordance with La Quinta Municipa*
Code, Chapter 5.10, and the terms and provisions of the cable franrhise
agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of La Quinta does
hereby RESOLVE:
1. Palmer Communications, Inc., DB* Coachella Valley Television
CVTV) is hereby granted a nonexclusive cable TV franchi*e in
accordance with the terms and provisions of Chapter 5.10 of
the La Quinta Municipal Code and the cable franchise agree-
ment, attached hereto, marked exhibit *, and incorporated
herein by this reference.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to exec*ite said
cable franchise agreement on behalf of the City of La Q*inta.
