CC Resolution 1987-038 Fees^#5u ENDAITEM# RESOLUTION NO. 87-38 /4PPRcv** oCON TNUED TO * RESOLUTION OF THE LA QUINTA CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISHING FEES FOR PARCEL MERGERS, AND AMENDING INFRASTRUCTURE AND BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION FEES RELATING TO NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME CONSTRUCTION IN THE COVE AREA. WHEREAS, the La Quinta City Council has adopted Resolution No. 85-6, establishing fees for permit, plan reviews, and other activities undertaken pursuant to building and construction regulations; and WHEREAS, the La Quinta City Council has adopted Resolution No. 85-26, establishing a community infrastructure fee policy imposed on new development; and WHEREAS, the La Quinta city Council has adopted an interim one-year policy on June 16, 1987, establishing financial incentives regarding combining of residential lots in the Cove; and WHEREAS, the State Government Code provides that fees may be collected to cover the cost of administering permits, plan review and inspection activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the La Quinta City Council does hereby resolve as follows: 1. Resolution No. 85-6 is hereby amended by adding new Table No. 12 Fee Waiver, and Table No. 13 Parcel Merger Fees, to read as follows: Table No. 12 Fee Waiver All building and construction fees associated with the construction of a new single-family residence in the Cove area may be waived when in conjunction with a parcel merger of two lots into one, or redivision of three lots into two, or other combination which results in a minimum lot size of 7,200 square feet. The Cove area is described as that area bounded by the Bear Creek Storm Water Channel on the west, Calle Tampico on the north, Avenida Bermudas on the east, and Calle Tecate on the south. Table No. 13 Parcel Merger Fees The application fee for parcel mergers shall be $175.00; except, the fee may be waived when in conjunction with any new single-family dwelling construction. The construction activity may also include swimming pools, room additions, and attached or detatched garages requiring the merger of parcels. Residential an amount equal to one and one-half percent of the building permit valuation for each dwelling or structure, with a maximum fee of $2,000; except, the infrastructure fee may be reduced by one-half for the construction of a new single-family residence when in conjunction with a parcel merger of two lots into one, or redivision of three lots into two, or other combination which results in a minimum lot size of 7,200 square feet. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta City Council held on this 7th day of July 1987. AYES: Council Members Bohnenberger, Cox, Pena, Sniff and Mayor Hoyle. NOES: None.
