CC Resolution 1988-031^!6 453 RESOLUTION NO.88-31 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, COASTAL AND PARK LAND CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 WHEREAS, this initiative would provide $776 million statewide a) to protect wildlife habitat, park lands and coastal areas and to 1) provide recreational opportunities for the benefit of present and future generations of Californians; and m WHEREAS, the City Council of La Quinta finds that these lands are a vital and necessary part of our community and help to preserve the quality of life in the City of La Quinta; and WHEREAS, these lands are an essential and irreplaceable part of our State's unique natural heritage and must be preserved; and WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta will receive $20,000 from the passage of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act; and WHEREAS, a statewide coalition of civic and conservation groups and businesses has formed as Californians for Parks and Wildlife to seek qualification and voter approval of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Initiative on the June, 1988 state ballot. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of La Quinta, California, do hereby support the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988.
