RESOLUTION NO. 88-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION TO THE COACHELLA VALLEY
BOOKMOBILE.
WHEREAS, in books are stored the accumulated wisdom of the
ages, and the individual who does not read has very little
advantage over the person who cannot read; and
a) WHEREAS, the citizens of La Quinta have not had the
II) advantage of having a local library facility; and

WHEREAS, the Coachella Valley Bookmobile has been an
m asset to our community, serving the citizens of La Quinta since
its inception in 1974 with continuous, quality service; and
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta will soon be celebrating the
opening of its own branch of the Riverside City and County
Public Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the La Quinta City
Council wishes to express its' sincere appreciation to the
Coachella valley Bookmobile for their dedicated service.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, the City
Council hereby proclaims Tuesday, May 24, 1988 as COACHELLA
VALLEY BOOKMOBILE DAY in the City of La Quinta and urges all
citizens to visit the Bookmobile on that day between the hours
of ten thirty o'clock and noon at Village Park to express
personal gratitude for their long and faithful service to our
community.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 1988 by
the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Bohnenberger, Cox, Pena, Sniff,
Mayor Hoyle
