CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 88-90
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY MANAGER TO PREPARE AND
EXECUTE AN EXTENSION OF THE HOME
ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM AGREEMENT WITH
THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY HOUSING
AUTHORITY TO COVER FISCAL YEAR
1988-89

Ln WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
Y) California, did, on the 21st day of June, 1988, hold a duly
noticed public meeting to consider the extension of the
m Agreement with the Riverside County Housing Authority; and
WHEREAS, on October 27, 1987, the City of La Quinta and
the Housing Authority did execute an Agreement for the Use of
Community Development Block Grant Funds for Home Enhancement
Activities'1; and
WHEREAS, Home Enhancement Activities are in progress but
the funds received for this purpose $34,370 of CDBG
Entitlement Funds) have not yet been expended; and
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta is desirous of completing
this program with all deliberate speed; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement, Article 15, provides that this
Agreement may be modified or amended only in writing signed by
the duly authorized representatives of CITY and AUTHORITY": and
WHEREAS, the Agreement, Article 9 states:
The term of this agreement shall initially be for
fiscal year 1987-88 one year period starting July
1, 1987 and ending June 30, 1988) and shall by
mutual agreement be automatically renewed from year
to year so long as there are monies programmed to
this activity through prior year allotments, or as
a result of a new program year allotment of
Community Development Block Grant Funds to the
AUTHORITY, and the CITY is a participating member
of the Urban County Program"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of La Quinta, California as follows:
1. That the City is committed to expeditiously completing
the Home Enhancement program Activities within Fiscal
Year 1988-89; and

2. That the Mayor and City Manager are hereby directed to
execute an extension of the Agreement for Home
Enhancement Activities with the Riverside County Housing
Authority for an additional year starting July 1, 1988
through June 30, 1989.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
La Quinta City Council, held on this 21st day of June, 1988, by
the following vote, to wit:
