CC Resolution 1988-095^!6 RESOLUTION NO. 88-95 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1988, AND TO BE CONSOLIDATED WITH ANY OTHER ELECTION BEING HELD IN THE AREA ON THE SAME DAY, FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY A MEASURE, PURSUANT TO THE ELECTION CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO AN INCREASE IN THE TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX IN SAID CITY FROM EIGHT PERCENT TO NINE PERCENT. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general law cities in the State of California, a Special Municipal Election shall be held on November 8, 1988, for the submission to the voters a question relating to an increase in the Transient Occupancy Tax; and WHEREAS, it is desirable that said Special Municipal Election be consolidated with the Statewide General Election to be held on the same date and that within the city, the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two elections be the same and that the Riverside County Election Department canvass the returns of the Special Municipal Election and that the election be held in all respects as if there were only one election. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Municipal Elections, there is called and ordered to be held in the City of La Quinta, California, on Tuesday, November 8, 1988, a Special Municipal Election to be consolidated with the Statewide General Election for the purpose of voting on a ballot measure regarding an increase in Transient Occupancy Tax. SECTION 2: That the measure to appear on the ballot will read as follows: SHALL ORDINANCE NO. 125 BE ADOPTED YES AMENDING LA QUINTA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3.24.030 INCREASING THE TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX FROM EIGHT PERCENT 8%) TO NINE PERCENT 9%)? NO BIB] 07-08-1998-U01 10:18:33AM-U01 ADMIN-U01 CCRES-U02 88-U02 95-U02 ^!6 SECTION 3: That the Board of Supervisors is requested to issue instructions to the County Election Department to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of the consolidated election. SECTION 4: That the City of La Quinta agrees to reimburse Riverside County for services performed when work is completed upon presentation of a bill. SECTION 5: That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, the election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections. SECTION 6: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors and to the Registrar of Voters of Riverside County.
